Portland Attorney Michael Fuller’s Career

I love my career as a Portland attorney! As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a lawyer. To view my curriculum vitae for use in court, click here.

First Jobs

At age 15, I got my first job at Subway. During my interview I was asked “So kid, what’s your favorite sub?” I said “I don’t know, we can’t really afford to eat here.” Chip said “You’re hired.” And that was the start of my career!

The Fuller family taught me a strong work ethic. I always worked at least two jobs in high school, seven days a week. Hard work was so important my mom kept a book of all my jobs!

Senator Gordon Smith

At Oregon State University I worked every job I could find. The summer after graduation I worked for Senator Gordon Smith in Washington, DC.

After working for the senator, I pumped gas at Chevron in West Salem and worked as a hod carrier to pay for my law school seat deposit.

Legal Aid Services of Oregon

Below is a quote from my 2005 law school application to law school:

I want to expose poor families to good financial advice, and empower them with the financial knowledge many in the entitled class take for granted.

In 2006 I worked at Legal Aid Services of Oregon on a public interest fellowship. The first case of my legal career was a social security disability appeal for a young bipolar client. We won!

During law school Professor Tamayo let me pick weeds at her house on the weekends for beer money. I started clerking at the OlsenDaines law firm during my 2L year in law school.

OlsenDaines Law Firm
